ONE OF A KIND

His birth was contrary to the laws of life, and His death contrary to the laws of death. He had neither wealth nor social status.

As an infant He frightened a king. As a child He puzzled scholars. As a man He controlled nature, walking on water and claming the stormy sea. He owned no farm or fishing fleet, yet was able to feed 5000 people and have bread and fish left over.

Without medical training or medicine, He healed multitudes of sick and diseased, charging nothing for His services. He never studied psychiatry, but has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors worldwide.

He never wrote a book, yet thousands of books have been written about Him. He never wrote a song, yet He is the theme of more songs than any other person. He never founded a college, but all the schools in the world do not have many students.

He never commanded an army or fired a gun, a black cloud covered the sun. Men didn't tremble for their sins, but the earth shook under the load of them. Nature honored Him while sinners rejected Him. The ground was reddened by His blood, but could not claim His body.

Though it's been nearly 2000 years since His crucifixion, He still lives. Herod could not destroy Him, and the grave could not hold Him. He ranks highest in heavenly glory - proclaimed by God, served by angles, adored by saints, and feared by devils - as the living Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

Each Sunday, business slows down as people gather all over the world to praise, worship and remember Him. The names of famous men are forgotten, but His name becomes better known every day.

Was this merely the son of Joseph and Mary who was born 20 centuries ago? Was it merely human blood that He shed at Calvary for the redemption of sinners? No! He was the Son of the living God who came to die for you and me.

A UNIQUE OFFER

Why did Jesus do this? Because of God's love for you: "God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (Jn. 3: 16 NKJV).

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8)

"What do I have to do ?" You ask. Confess your sins to God and accept the free gift He offers you:

"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom 6: 23)

Speak to Him right now, like this: "Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. I want You to save me and give me the Gift of Eternal Life. Make Yourself known to me. I open the door of my heart please come into my life. With thy precious and purifying blood cleanse me from all my sin. Please write my name in the book of life and be the lord and saviour of my entire life. Thank you for making me your child and becoming my lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen."

God bless you. Congratulations. From this day on as a Christian you need to do these four things from now in the Lord. 1. Be in constant fellowship with God through prayer.
2. Be fed spiritually daily by reading the word of God.
3. Be in fellowship with God's children and grow in Christ
4. And grow by boldly declaring your faith in Christ to all other who do not know.
Amen

Divine Paradoxes

We are impressed with the fact that He who was the Bread of Life began His ministry by hungering, and He who was the Water of Life ended His ministry by thirsting. Gregory of Nazianzus has beautifully developed this idea in these words.

Christ hungered as man and fed the hungry as God;

He was hungry as man, and yet He is the Bread of Life;

He was athirst as man, and yet He says, 'Let him that is athirst come unto me and drink';

He was weary, and yet he is our rest;

He paid tribute, and yet He is our king;

He was called a devil, and yet He cast out devils;

He prayed and yet He dries out tears;

He was sold for thirty pieces of silver, and yet He redeems the world;

He was 'led as a sheep to the slaughter', and yet He is the Good Shepherd;

He was mute like a sheep, and yet He is the Everlasting Word.

FOR PREACHERS

THE SUNDAY CASKET

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." - Rom 3:23

Many years ago in Waterbury, Connecticut, an evangelist wanted to emphasize the truth that men are "dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph . 2:1)

The overflow crowd at the church on Sunday morning was shocked to see a casket covered with flowers in front of the pulpit. They were even amazed when the evangelist graphically described Hell with its horrors.

As he dwelt on all of the darkness, isolation, pain and remorse experienced by the soul that is eternally separated from God, some began to weep and tremble. The preacher said the found it impossible to eulogize the dead person, for he had committed grievous sins that deserved only God's wrath. "The one you will soon view is justly condemned to eternal torment", he said.

At the end of his sermon, the flowers were removed form coffin, and the audience was asked walk past the casket keeping about 10 feet between them. They were to look once at this horrible sinner and then return to their seats in silence.

Each person peered fearfully into the casket but found is empty. However, a full-length mirror in the bottom reflected his own face as he stared in amazement. Then in the closing moments of the service, the solemn and convicted audience was reminded that although sin brings the penalty of death, the gift of God through Christ provides a way of escape.

If you kook into the mirror of God's Word, you will see yourself lying in the "casket of sin". The Bible makes it clear that unless you turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, you are "Condemned already" (John 3:18)

A MODERN FOOL !

A famous astronomer produced a small model of the solar system, showing the earth, the moon and the planets moving about the sun. One day a famous atheist, who said he could not believe in God, saw the little model and asked the astronomer, "Who made this beautify model?"

"No one", the astronomer answered. "It just happened."

"Do not be foolish ! Such a perfect model could not just happen. Surely someone made it and put it here," replied the atheist.

" I'm not half so foolish you are," the astronomer answered . "You do not believe this little model just happened, but you profess to believe that the great universe, with the real sun, moon, stars, and earth just happened and is kept working without any guiding mind. Who is the fool?" (Read Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created Heaven and the Earth. and Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart. There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none the doeth good)

What does Psalm 19:1 say about the heavens?

The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handwork.

Genesis 1:1 tells us that God always was and Revelation 1:8 tells us He always will be.
